VACANCY NOTICE – MESSENGER/DRIVER

The Embassy of the Republic of Botswana invites applications from qualifying candidates for the position of MESSENGER/DRIVER.

MAIN DUTIES:

• Collects & delivers mail and runs other errands as required
• Maintains vehicle in clean condition at all times including cleaning the interior and exterior regularly.
• Monitors and maintains vehicle service record, ensuring that vehicles are serviced as required
• To keep proper records of trips travelled, vehicles condition and fuelling of the cars.
• To load and off-loads goods for the Embassy and staff as required.
• Perform chauffeur duties for the Ambassador during the absence of Chauffeur.
• To carry out general duties as assigned such as; banking, postage, events set up and guests shuttling.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certificate in any related field
• Possession of a valid and clean Drivers Licence.
• Fluent in written and spoken German and English.
• At least 2 years’ experience as a messenger/driver.
• A valid residence and work permit in Germany.

COVID-19 Relief Fund Bank Details

The Government of Botswana wishes to inform members of the public that a Relief Fund that will assist to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 or Coronavirus as it is commonly known, has been set up.
This is to allow members of the public, Non-Governmental Organisations, companies as well as institutions to make financial contributions towards the fight against the spread of COVID-19 in Botswana.

Embassy Resumes Operation

This serves to inform all our customers that the Embassy of the Republic of Botswana resumed operations with effect from 2 June 2020.

The Embassy now operates on a truncated work day of 1000hrs to 1500hrs office hours until further notice.

As part of the post COVID-19 stay safe guidelines, the Mission has put in place the following regulations:

1. At all times the operations and access to our Offices will be guided by prevailing national guidelines and best practice in facilitating the safety of our Staff and those we come into contact with.
2. To achieve this, we are all urged to wash our hands frequently, for the stipulated length of 15-20 seconds.
3. Social Distancing is to be maintained
4. Disinfectant is provided for guests.
5. All guests will be permitted into the Mission ONLY if they wear a face mask.
6. A register of all guests is maintained by Reception.
7. The Embassy will continue to monitor developments and be guided by prevailing legislation as the rules are further restricted.
