All travellers to Botswana are expected to meet the following requirements:

a) A negative COVID-19 Polymerase Chain reaction (PCR) test not older than 72 hours prior to arrival for travelers that have been outside Botswana for 36 hours or longer.

b) Travelers who have been outside of Botswana for less than 36 hours will be allowed entry using the negative COVID -19 PCR test obtained at exit.

c) A COVID-19 Self-declaration Screening Form must be completed and temperature checks undergone upon Entry into Botswana

d) The traveler may be required to undertake mandatory testing and possible isolation or quarantine, as per Section 76 (1) (2) and 80 of the Public Health Act of 2014 if found to have symptoms suggestive of COVID -19

e) The traveler will have to complete a contact form, providing accurate contact information while in Botswana. The local health authority may contact the traveler within 14 days of arrival.

f) Returning citizens and residents not meeting these requirements will undergo 14-days mandatory quarantine and testing at their own expense (as assesses by local authority).

g) Children under the age of 5 years upon arrival are exempted from the negative COVID -19 PCR test result not older than 72 hours prior to arrival requirement but will undergo screening for COVID-19 symptoms.

h) Travelers that are not citizens that do not meet these requirements and are unable to bear the costs for testing and quarantine upon arrival will be DENIED entry into Botswana.

i) Travelers exiting Botswana are expected to comply with travel regulations of the destination country at their own expense.
